This program is to exposure for research on contemporary issues in the discipline of Shariah.

The goal of the program is to produce graduates with advanced knowledge and skill in the field of Shariah who are able to critically evaluate, analyze, synthesize and conduct research.

This program outcomes is to meet current needs in the Sharia discipline especially in contemporary issues by focusing on holistic knowledge and balanced knowledge (ilm aqli and naqli).

Research outcomes can help graduates to contribute in their professions, industries and related disciplines.

Malaysian Students
  • Master's Degree (Level 7, MQF) in the field of Islamic Studies or its equivalent as accepted by the HEP Senate.

  • A Master's degree (Level 7, MQF) in other fields but not having a formal Islamic Studies qualification can be accepted on the condition of passing a qualification exam that confirms a sufficient level of background knowledge, the exam includes written and oral components (including interview).

International Students
  • As the conditions above include;

  • Must meet a minimum score (Test of English as a Foreign Language, TOEFL) of 5.0 or equivalent.
