The Arabic for Special Purposes program is the only program of its kind offered in Malaysia. It was designed to qualify Master's Degree candidates to conduct scientifically and scientifically authoritative studies and research. Produce quality and authentic works as a reference in the field of Arabic for Special Purposes or related. To transform the approach in related studies in the field of Arabic language for a specific purpose and become experts and professionals in the field that will make Malaysia a world center of knowledge.

Malaysian Students
  • A bachelor’s degree in the field or related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.75 or equivalent, as accepted by the HEP Senate; or

  • A bachelor’s degree in the field or related fields or equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 and not meeting CGPA of 2.75, can be accepted subject to rigorous internal assessment; or

  • A bachelor’s degree in the field or related fields or equivalent with minimum CGPA of 2.00 and not meeting CGPA of 2.50, can be accepted subject to a minimum of 5 years working experience in the relevant field and rigorous internal assessment.

  • Candidates without a related qualification in the field/s or working experience in the relevant fields must meet the following requirements;

    1. meet the minimum qualification CGPA 2.75 to CGPA 2.00,

    2. achieve at least B2 in the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference): level of proficiency in Arabic (or equivalent), AND

    3. take Pre-Requisite Courses (Including Linguistics, Phonetics, Syntax, Semantics or program equivalent course)

International Students
  • International candidates are required to meet the English language requirements with a minimum score of 34 for the Test os English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) (Internet based) OR a score of 5.0 for the International English Language Testing System (IELTS).
