This program is designed to produce scholars who have mastered the knowledge of da'wah in depth and analyze the opinions of scholars in the field of da'wah. In addition, this program seeks to produce scholars who are able to practice their role as reference experts on religious matters, policy makers and implementers of principles based on the Quran and Sunnah towards the harmony of Malaysia's plural society. The program also focuses on da'wah methods, scientific, critical thinking and problem solving in facing the challenges of thinking in addition to practicing social skills, practicing responsible attitude and integrity in explaining matters related to da'wah to the community. This program can indirectly maintain a genuine identity through a lifelong learning process.
Admission Requirements
Malaysian Students
A bachelor’s degree in the field or related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.75 or equivalent, as accepted by the HEP Senate; or
A bachelor’s degree in the field or related fields or equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 and not meeting CGPA of 2.75, can be accepted subject to rigorous internal assessment; or
A bachelor’s degree in the field or related fields or equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 and not meeting CGPA of 2.50, can be accepted subject to a minimum of 5 years working experience in the relevant field and rigorous internal assessment.
Candidates without a qualification in the related fields or relevant working experience must undergo appropriate prerequisite courses determined by the HEP and meet the minimum CGPA based on (i) to (iii)
International Students
International students must meet the English language requirement with a minimum score of 550 for the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) OR a score of 5.5 for the International English Language Testing System (IELTS).
Career Prospect
Graduates who have participated in this program have the opportunity to fill positions as academics, lecturers and researchers in public and private IPT, in the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM), Ministry of Home Affairs, State Islamic Religious Departments, State Islamic Religious Council, and as well as other relevant bodies.
