The Master of al-Hadith Studies aims to serve the needs of graduates who are interested in furthering their studies in Hadith by dissertation. Candidates who join this programme have the option of choosing part-time or full-time status to suit their personal and work schedule.

This programme provides students with the knowledge of the science of Hadith. It also provides the competency to explain and interpret the science of Hadith and its terminologies, and to determine the validity of Hadith. It enables students to apply the science of Hadith in solving everyday problems. This program is accredited and certified by Ministry of Education Malaysia (Higher Education) and the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA).

Malaysian Students
  1. A bachelor’s degree in the field or related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.75 or equivalent, as accepted by the HEP Senate; or

  2. A bachelor’s degree in the field or related fields or equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 and not meeting CGPA of 2.75, can be accepted subject to rigorous internal assessment; or

  3. A bachelor’s degree in the field or related fields or equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 and not meeting CGPA of 2.50, can be accepted subject to a minimum of 5 years working experience in the relevant field and rigorous internal assessment.

  4. Candidates without a qualification in the related fields or relevant working experience must undergo appropriate prerequisite courses determined by the HEP and meet the minimum CGPA based on (i) to (iii)

International Students
  • International students must meet the English language requirement with a minimum score of 550 for the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) OR a score of 5.5 for the International English Language Testing System (IELTS).

Career Prospect

  • Expected career prospects in professional fields such as Education, research, administration, hadith tahqiq and international diplomacy.

  • Graduates can serve in institutions such as the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM), Ministry of Development, Women and Youth, State Islamic Religious Department, State Islamic Religious Council and be a members of Da'wah such as PERKIM, ABIM, YADIM and others.
