This program is designed as a major-minor structure, combining the disciplines of Shariah and Muamalat, with a strong emphasis on Shariah curriculum content and fundamental elements of Islamic economics, Islamic banking and finance, Islamic wealth management, takaful and risk management, Islamic money and capital markets, Shariah issues in muamalat, and other related topics. The program received full accreditation from the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) in 2020.
Graduates of this program are expected to attain a deep understanding of Shariah and Muamalat through the study of classical texts (turath). They are also anticipated to demonstrate the ability to propose solutions to contemporary Shariah and Muamalat issues. Beyond academic mastery, graduates are envisioned to exemplify entrepreneurial leadership skills applicable to their careers, daily lives, and contributions to society.
Admission Requirements
Malaysian Students
Pass in STPM with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 out of 4.00 and at least TWO full passes, one of which is in a subject related to Islamic Studies. OR
A pass in a qualification equivalent to STPM such as A levels, provided that the candidate passes at least one Islamic Studies subject in that qualification. OR
A recognised Matriculation or Foundation qualification in Islamic Studies with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 out of 4.00. OR
Pass with overall grade of maqbūl in Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM). OR
A recognised Diploma in Islamic Studies or its equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 out of 4.00.
International Students
Pass with a minimum overall score of 550 in Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) OR overall score of 5.5 in International English Language Testing System (IELTS) or equivalent.
Career Prospect
The Bachelor of Shariah with Muamalat Programme will produce graduates with a strong base in the Syariah and Muamalat studies. These graduates will have the opportunity to work in both private and public institutions which are operated by Islamic management oriented, Islamic Financial institutions and investment company.
