The Master of Islamic Finance is an extension of the Bachelor of Islamic Finance (Banking) (Hons), FPM, UIS. Students will be exposed to research related to Islamic Finance and produce good thesis under the continuous supervision of the supervisor. In addition, the program aims to produce experts related to research in Islamic Finance. It is hoped that it will help in making Malaysia one of the world's leading Islamic financial centers by creating innovative products and operations in the field of Islamic finance.

Malaysian Students
  • A Bachelor’s degree (Level 6, MQF) in Islamic Finance related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.75 as accepted by the HEP Senate;

  • A Bachelor’s degree (Level 6, MQF) in Islamic Finance related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 and not meeting CGPA of 2.75 can be accepted, subject to rigorous internal assessment;

  • A Bachelor’s degree (Level 6, MQF) in Islamic Finance related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 and not meeting CGPA of 2.50 can be accepted, subject to a minimum of 5 years relevant working experience and rigorous internal assessment;

  • A Bachelor’s degree (Level 6, MQF) in non-related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 as accepted by the HEP Senate, subject to having relevant working experience and rigorous internal assessment;

  • A Bachelor’s degree (Level 6, MQF) in non-related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 and not meeting 2.50 as accepted by the HEP Senate, subject to a minimum of 5 years relevant working experience and rigorous internal assessment;

  • A Bachelor’s degree (Level 6, MQF) in non-related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 as accepted by the HEP Senate and without relevant working experience, subject to passing pre-requisite courses;

  • Other qualifications equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree (Level 6, MQF) as recognised by the Malaysian Government.

International Students
  • For international students, an additional requirement is to have The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) test with a score of 6.0, OR its equivalent.

Career Prospect

  • Graduates who have participated in this program have the opportunity to fill positions as an academician, lecturers, researchers at public and private institutions of higher learning or agencies such as ISRA, IBFIM and others related. Graduates also have the opportunity to become Product Development Officers or Executive in the relevant Departments either in Islamic Banks or Takaful Institutions.
